NetComposites (Chesterfield, U.K.) has launched VirCon (virtual consultant), a free, interactive online tool designed to provide introductory information on composite materials and processes. The Web tool reportedly gives users access to hundreds of pages of basic information on polymer composites and is divided into seven sections, each dealing with an aspect of composite materials, processing and applications: Composites Overview, Material Choices, Manufacturing Methods, Structure Design, Service and Support Issues, Material Selector and Properties Evaluation.
