Low-profile additives

By Staff | April 2008

Cray Valley (Paris, France) has introduced a range of low-shrink, low-profile additives called NORSOLOOK, designed for use in resins that are formulated for SMC, BMC and for use in pultrusion and RTM processes to produce automotive components. When used with the company’s new NORSODYNE M01510 resin, the additives reportedly address paintability and surface-quality issues that have been encountered in SMC automotive body panels. The additives reportedly eliminate paint “pops” caused by outgassing during paint-baking operations. Other benefits include reduced VOCs and reduced solvent uptake in online painting applications. NORSOLOOK A76086 is designed to address Class A finish requirements.
