Lectra (Paris, France) has released a new version of its Optiplan cut-order planning and optimizing software. Its designed to incorporate enterprise resource planning (ERP), plotting, CAD and CAM systems to accelerate planning, costing and cutting processes. When combined with a fabric management system, the softwares algorithm-based automatic planning tool enables the definition of marker lists according to the availability of material from stock. Manufacturers can easily enter, edit and view fabric roll information to improve efficiency of material usage. Optiplan delivers selected cutting scenarios to spreading and cutting equipment as executable plans, which is said to considerably reduce errors downstream and minimize unnecessary costs and waste.
