Novacel (Troy, Ohio) has introduced Novagard 9377, an opaque white plastic film designed to protect automobile bodies and parts against damage from acid rain, bird droppings and tool marks during assembly, transport and storage. Designed to provide nine months of exterior weather resistance, the product is 2.4 mil/60 µm thick and available in 656-ft/200m reels in widths ranging from 1.2 inches to 108 inches (30 mm to 2,800 mm). The film’s adhesive is solvent-free, and the film and its packaging reportedly can be reclaimed, provided they are not soiled during use.
