High-capacity curing oven

By Staff | March 2008

Grieve Corp. (Round Lake, Ill.) has introduced No. 916, a gas-heated, 500°F high-capacity walk-in oven for curing epoxy/phenolic fiber-reinforced parts inside steel molds. Work space dimensions are 120 inches wide by 144 inches deep by 84 inches high (3,048 by 3,658 by 2,134 mm). Its modulating natural gas burner and a 24,500-cfm, 20-hp recirculating blower can produce up to 800,000 BTU/hr. The walk-in oven features an aluminized steel exterior and interior plus 4-inch/102-mm thick insulated walls and a removable, top-mounted heat chamber. There is no door sill; instead, the two front doors are equipped with drag seals. The oven has all safety devices required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-heated equipment, including a 325-cfm, 1/3-hp powered forced exhauster. Other features include a digital programming temperature controller and a 10-inch/254-mm diameter circular chart recorder.
