SPE ACCE 2023 innovative parts competition is open for nominations
Any register conference participant may nominate original equipment, aftermarket or prototype composite parts for automotive, truck and UAM applications by July 30, 2023.

The organizing committee for the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition (ACCE, Troy, Mich., U.S.) is issuing a call for nominations for its annual innovative automotive, truck and urban air mobility (UAM) parts competition. The ACCE conference takes place Sept. 6-8, 2023 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.
Any registered conference participant (speaker, sponsor/exhibitor or attendee) may nominate original equipment or aftermarket composite parts on automotive, heavy truck, work truck, UAM or other transportation applications from anywhere in the world. Prototype parts are also eligible. Companies, organizations and universities are all encouraged to participate and be recognized for innovative production parts or prototypes.
The vehicle producer must give permission and the part must be brought to the SPE ACCE for a formal review by judges. A total of five prizes will be awarded. Four are provided for the most innovative Production Part and Prototype Part in “Materials Innovation” and “Process Innovation” categories (selected by judges who are industry experts and members of the SPE ACCE planning committee). The fifth award, the People’s Choice award winner, will be selected by conference attendees. Winning teams will receive recognition and a trophy at the event.
Nomination abstracts are due June 30, 2023 and final nominations are due July 30, 2023 via email to ACCE part competition chair Dr. Leonardo Simon (LSimon@uwaterloo.ca).
