Easy Composites appointed as exclusive U.K. distributor of Eco-Technilin natural fiber reinforcements
Eco-Technilin natural fiber product range offers woven, nonwoven, UD and prepreg reinforcement options that are more sustainable, affordable alternatives to traditional reinforcements like glass fiber.
Easy Composites Ltd. (Stoke-on-Trent, U.K.) a supplier of advanced composites materials, equipment and training recently announced an exclusive U.K. distribution agreement with Eco-Technilin (Valliquerville, France), natural fiber solutions provider for applications in the composites market. According to Easy Composites, this partnership will give its customers the opportunity to purchase environmentally friendly and sustainable alternatives to traditional composite reinforcements such as glass fiber.
In addition to their ‘green‘ credentials, Eco-Technilin’s natural fiber products are said to hold an attractive aesthetic and excellent vibration damping properties. The range includes Eco-Technilin Fibrimat nonwoven, Flaxdry woven, Flaxtape unidirectional (UD) and Flaxpreg prepreg reinforcements.
Eco-Technilin dry flax reinforcements are suitable for most laminating processes including hand layup, vacuum bagging, press molding and resin infusion. Flaxpreg products are available in an uncured epoxy matrix, and UD flax prepregs are suitable for autoclave, oven or hot-press cure. The materials are ideal for a wide range of products including skis, snowboards, canoes, kayaks, architectural moldings and vehicle moldings from vehicle interior trim to external body panels.
“We are delighted to have formed this partnership with Eco-Technilin at a time when both personal and corporate awareness of environmental considerations has never been higher,” says Matt Statham, director at Easy Composites. “Manufacturers — small and large — are looking for ways to use more sustainable materials in their production and consumers are keener than ever to buy products with reduced environmental impact; this is particularly true in sectors such as outdoor sports and leisure equipment where consumers tend to be most closely connected to their natural world.
“Easy Composites are proud to be the exclusive U.K. distributor for Eco-Technilin and support them fully in their goal to make environmentally friendly technical materials as affordable and accessible as possible,” Statham continues.
Eco-Technilin’s overall mission is to develop and offer solutions to reduce the environmental footprint by proposing high-performance natural fiber reinforcements, that are easily available and affordable for the industry.
“With their great expertise in composites, their powerful website and high-quality tutorials, we feel that Easy Composites is the ideal partner to help us in our mission and we are delighted to team up with them to expand even more the use of natural fibers in composites,” says Francois Barbier, sales director at Eco-Technilin.
