The U.K.’s Department for International Trade (DIT, London), Manchester Investment Development Advisory Service and Invest Bristol & Bath are holding a composites workshop and networking reception during CAMX.

The event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 2:30-5:00 p.m. in Room 304A of the Anaheim Convention Center.

The workshop will provide an update on the U.K.’s vibrant composites sector, including business and investment opportunities that can help your company grow internationally. At the workshop, Dr. Faye Smith, a chartered engineer, advanced materials specialist, and vice chairman of Composites UK, will provide technical and strategic knowledge to facilitate foreign investment and U.K.-based collaborative R&D. Expert discussions on developing lightweight, energy-efficient structures to meet carbon reduction targets in composite-using sectors will be held prior to a networking reception.

The U.K. composite materials sector predicts the U.K. market will grow from $2.9 billion in 2012 to $14.7 billion by 2030, driven by the need to develop lightweight structures for energy efficiency, cost savings and to meet carbon reduction targets. Considerable growth is forecast across existing composites-using sectors such as aerospace and defense, automotive and renewables, oil and gas, rail and large-scale construction projects.
