ACMA announces new VP of Government Relations
Dan Neumann, bringing extensive experience in trade policy to the table, will lead ACMA’s government relations strategy starting on April 4, 2022.
The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA, Arlington, Va., U.S.), the world’s leading composites industry trade association, announced on March 24 that Dan Neumann has been named vice president (VP) of Government Relations and will assume the role on April 4, 2022.
Neumann joins ACMA with an extensive background and expertise, working closely with federal agencies, Congress and industry trade associations (including manufacturing associations) to craft winning solutions and build strong partnerships. In his new role, he will be responsible for ACMA’s legislative and public policy agenda, ensuring expanded opportunities for composites in the global marketplace.
Prior to joining ACMA, Neumann served as the VP of Government Affairs at Sorini, Samet & Associates (Washington, D.C., U.S.), where he was the principal strategic advisor to two industry associations and advised many companies on trade policy and sourcing strategies. In his nine years with the firm, Neumann successfully led U.S. trade policy initiatives and developed deep relationships in Congress and three presidential administrations.
He began his career in trade policy as a reporter for Inside U.S. Trade, a premier newsletter focusing on trade policy in Washington, Geneva and around the world. Following his time as a reporter, Neumann served as an economic analyst on the Congressionally chartered-U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission before moving to the Joint Economic Committee Democratic staff under Senator Bob Casey and Senator Amy Klobuchar. While he has spent much of his career focusing on trade policy, Neumann began his career in the transportation space and infrastructure policy has remained a keen interest.
Neumann will join ACMA’s John Schweitzer, a well-known composites industry expert for environmental, health and safety issues with a strong track record in regulatory affairs to round out ACMA’s Government Relations team.
