EIT InnoEnergy (EIT, Eindhoven, Netherlands), an organization that offers support and investment for sustainable European innovations, reports that it has become advanced wind technologies company Nabrawind's (Navarra, Spain) new shareholder, joining investors Evoluwind (promoters), Barinaga and Alberdi, Sodena and Basarrothe, that constitute the company, and is exercising the right acquired in the capital increase that Nabrawind carried out last July 2019.

Nabrawind is most well-known in the wind industry by its Nabrajoint modular blade, which enables companies to manufacturer blades in two or more parts, transport them separately and then assemble them onsite, a wind blade designs have also often incorporated composites. Eneko Sanz, general manager of Nabrawind, highlights the "importance that EIT InnoEnergy gives us its support. This agreement will be an important boost not only for Nabralift, but also for Nabrajoint, our modular blade technology.”

According to EIT, entry into Nabrawind’s capital meets two of the company’s milestones. First, EIT says this action was conditioned on the completion of the Nabralift tower project, which was successfully achieved with the installation of a 160-meter hub height prototype in Eslava (Spain) and the subsequent Nabralift’s market entry through the installation of a 144-meter hub height Nabralift tower in Morocco.

Second, the entry of the new shareholder will reportedly strengthen Nabrawind's business development position as a result of the experience and resources that EIT InnoEnergy offers, as well as know-how accompanying young companies in the renewable energy sector.

“Nabrawind is a huge asset for us and we are proud now of being part of it,” says Javier Sanz, a new member of Nabrawind's board. “We are sure that this company will become a reference in the sector through its technological solutions that address both energy cost and its carbon footprint.”
