Fort ORD Works (FOW, Marina, Calif., U.S.) has announced that it has achieved both AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality certifications. FOW has received these certifications through its registrar, International Standards Authority Inc. (ISA, Corona, Calif., U.S.).
“We are very proud to have achieved these certifications,” says Joe Johnson, CEO of FOW. “Although we have operated with a fully compliant system for many years, obtaining the certifications documents a robust quality system that ensures a high-level of quality and conformance to the strict requirements of our aerospace customers.”
FOW is a privately held, engineering and technology company that specializes in design, development and manufacture of high-performance structures using advanced composite materials. The company’s primary products are used in the commercial and defense aerospace industries. The company specializes in collaborative product design, affordable composite tooling, a broad selection of manufacturing processes and mechanical/electrical sub-assembly capabilities that enables its customers to have a one-stop shop for all their lightweight, high-tech structures needs.
“Our entire team at FOW worked hard to achieve these certifications and are especially honored since this was our first audit with ISA,” adds Jeff Ferrara, president and general manager of FOW. “This was a rigorous and thorough process, and it was through our relentless commitment to quality, compliance to stringent internal procedures and discipline throughout our company that allowed us to achieve this milestone. The recent implementation of our new ERP system coupled with a paperless factory were also key factors in this success.”
