Composites solutions provider HRC Group (Shanghai, China) and VOSS Fluid (Wipperfürth), a Germany-based international supplier of hydraulic coupling technology in the VOSS Group, have signed an “Agreement on Joint Development Project” aimed at developing lighter, smarter and more efficient hydrogen storage systems. The project, to be managed by Dr. Viktor Reimer, head of Pressure Vessel Development at HRC Group/ACTC and Dr. Hans-Christian Früh, project manager at VOSS Fluid, will take advantage of HRC Group’s Type IV composite pressure vessels for hydrogen storage solutions which are currently under development and VOSS Fluid’s elaborations on high-pressure valves and coupling systems.

“The two companies have profound expertise in its fields — HRC in composites materials and processing technologies, VOSS in hydraulic coupling and valve technology. Together, we can offer cutting-edge and forward-looking solutions for one of the most important components for Type IV hydrogen composite pressure vessels,” says Yongtao Gu, president of HRC Group. “I’m confident that this Joint Development Project is going to be an example of a successful cooperation between two leading companies from Germany and China and will bring us to a new level of hydrogen storage solutions.”

Dr. Tim Huber, vice president of ACTC (part of HRC Group) and Erich Fries, director of Global Business Development, signed the agreement on behalf of HRC Group. VOSS Fluids was signed on behalf of Christian Mertens, CEO and managing director and Hans-Christian Früh, project manager.
