Pultron Composites (Gisborne, New Zealand) has recently earned the Excellence in Innovation Award at the Hawkes Bay Export Awards, an event that celebrates the Hawke’s Bay/Gisborne/Tairāwhiti region and all of the businesses making a name for it globally.
Pultron was one in a list of finalists in this category. The awards were judged by a cross-section of business peers and announced at a formal dinner on Thursday, Aug. 26 at the Hastings Toitoi Events Centre in New Zealand.
“The last couple of years have presented some tough challenges. This is a win for our whole team and goes a long way to acknowledge their talent and dedication. I know we have so much more we can achieve for our customers today and in the future,” Jasper Holdsworth, Pultron CEO, says. “To receive these accolades is a great honor. We have an incredible business community in the region and I would like to acknowledge and congratulate the fellow finalists and winners.”
Pultron exports products to more than 35 countries and has gained a reputation for developing complex glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) customized product solutions for its OEM and other customers, many of which replace traditional materials such as steel, timber and aluminum. Pultron says its GFRP composite solutions are designed to deliver improved durability, price and sustainability in diverse sectors including infrastructure, water treatment mining and recreation.
Earlier this year, Pultron signed a joint venture with F500 company Owens Corning (Toledo, Ohio, U.S.) on the back of the commercial success of Pultron’s concrete reinforcement technology, Mateenbar, which is used in notable infrastructure projects globally.
“Pultron is committed to delivering innovative composite solutions and continuous improvement for our customers. We’re only just getting started,” Jasper adds.
