Following the announcement of its Fundamentals of Applied FEA course, The Native Lab (TNL, Madrid, Spain) is launching its second new course of the year, Catia Design Methodology, which will begin April 12, 2022. With a focus on composite components, the course aims to show that designing is more than knowing where to find the right button. It will enable participants to set the foundations for a robust use of Catia and be able to tackle complex real-life designs with confidence, TNL says.

The course is structured in the following way: First participants will be acquainted with solids, especially Booleans. From there, the course will move into surfaces, where students will look at tools and operations and design a real-life part. To finish the course, there will be a final part on drawings and how to deal with GD&T and tolerances. Apart from this TNL says there will be some take-home exercises to practice the concepts learned.

The course will be structured in eight live and online instructor-led sessions. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 18:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. CET (1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST), from April 12 to May 31. The course will be taught by Marc Oliva, lead design engineer at Managing Composites (Madrid, Spain). A previous design engineer at Koenigsegg Automotive (Ängelholm, Sweden) and McLaren (Woking, U.K.), Oliva has about 10 years of experience in this field and is specialized in composite materials structures for the automotive sector.

Once the course is completed, every participant will receive a certificate of completion and will have access to an ever-growing alumni network with networking opportunities and much more. The course fee is set at €399. For more information, contact info@thenativelab.com.
