Continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composites, produced in unidirectional tapes and laminate configurations, have the unique ability to add strength and stiffness while reducing cycle times and enabling part consolidation of structural components in a wide variety of applications.
Join this webinar to learn more about these materials and explore how to leverage the benefits of CFRTPs in your application.
Primary Topics:
• Overview of continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites
• Mechanical characteristics and advantages of these materials
• Secondary forming and methods for manufacturing complex geometries
• How thermoplastic composites compare to traditional materials in various applications
Presenters; Darcy Hornberger and Ben Pilpel
Darcy is an application development manager at PolyOne, responsible for product and application development for continuous fiber composite technologies. Prior to PolyOne, Darcy held roles in composite design and analysis at Sabic Innovative Plastics and Plasan. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Engineering degree, both from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Ben is the engineering director for the thermoplastic division of PolyOne’s Advanced Composites business. During his 14-year tenure, Ben has developed manufacturing processes and thermoplastic composite products for transportation, consumer and industrial applications. Ben earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University.
