At its JEC World 2025 booth, Lehvoss Group (Hamburg, Germany) is focusing on material offerings geared toward flame protection and the launch of its new 3D printing material product line, Luvoprint.
Applications in the transport sector often place high demands on their materials use, such as ISO 45545 for flame protection in rail transport. Lehvoss highlights various high-quality, flame-retardant solutions that are available to meet these requirements, as well as finished materials for processing methods including pultrusion, injection molding and 3D printing.
Among its offerings for thermoset industry applications like pultrusion, SMC/BMC, CIPP, RTM, winding and others, Luvotrent products support with their ability to elevate fiber wetting, fillers and resin flow, thereby optimizing line speed and enhancing surface finish. According to Lehvoss, these solutions facilitate fast, precise and reliable production, ensuring efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
Luvogard, for example, reportedly provides an effective solution for flame-retardant applications. Liquid and transparent state aids in viscosity adjustment and dosing, supporting the production of advanced materials with high flame resistance. Additionally, Luvatine products offer highly functional wetting and dispersing agents. These agents improve the dispersion of pigments and fillers in resin systems.
On the other hand, Luvoprint by Lehvoss is a product line dedicated to high- performing materials for fused granulate fabrication (FGF), a 3D printing process that uses granules instead of filaments or powders.
Luvoprint materials are engineered to manufacture components, molds, jigs and fixtures in a broad range of demanding applications ranging from materials for structural applications under ambient conditions to materials for molds for curing composites in autoclaves under high temperature and pressure. The Luvoprint portfolio comprises grades based on:
- Eco PC/ABS: Optimal dimensional stability, high processability and low carbon footprint
- Eco PA6: High impact resistance, increased abrasion and wear resistance, low carbon footprint
- Eco PPS: Flame-retardant, high chemical resistant and low carbon footprint)
- PESU: Flame-retardant, high mechanical strength, optimal thermal stability.
According to the company, Luvoprint materials have been specifically developed and optimized for the printing process. The materials have undergone extensive testing via common industrial printing machines. Performance data and printer settings are available via Lehvoss and partners. The Luvoprint product line is continually expanding, with additional grades undergoing intensive testing.
Moreover, as the transition from traditional manufacturing processes to 3D printing can be challenging, Lehvoss offers assistance in this process, from material solution to final product, to ensure reproducibility and cost efficiency of 3D printing in serial production.
