Veolia, Composites Recycling SA partner for composites waste circularity
Three-phase project establishes, scales and launches operations of large-scale thermolysis-based recycling in western France.

Veolia Recycling and Recovery for Central & Western France (Veolia RVD Centre-Ouest, Aubervilliers, France), through its subsidiary Paul Grandjouan Saco (Saint-Herblain, France) and Composite Recycling SA (Ecublens, Switzerland), has announced a partnership to advance composite waste recycling in western France.
Veolia specializes in the collection and treatment of non-hazardous waste from local authorities and industries. Continuously seeking new recycling channels, the group aims to offer local solutions to its composite material-producing clients. Composite Recycling SA brings its thermolysis technology to the partnership, reportedly transforming composite waste into high-quality reusable materials such as fibers and pyrolysis oil.
“Our work involves developing innovative circular economy solutions based on industrial collaborations,” Marie Glorennec, head of innovation at Veolia RVD Centre-Ouest, states. “These projects aim to create new recycling pathways and provide our local industries with sustainable alternatives and recycled materials for their manufacturing operations.”
This exclusive partnership will focus on establishing a novel fiberglass production waste recycling scheme over a 6- to 12-month period at a Veolia RVD Centre-Ouest site in Loire-Atlantique, mapping the region’s waste streams and demonstrating the efficiency of Composite Recycling’s thermolysis-based recycling solution.
The project will proceed in three key phases:
- Phase 1: Installation of Composite Recycling’s first fiberglass recycling unit in Loire-Atlantique, capable of processing up to 2 tons of composite waste daily.
- Phase 2: Use of Phase 1 results to scale a regional composite waste processing network.
- Phase 3: Launch and large-scale operation of composite waste recycling in western France.
Guillaume Perben, CEO of Composite Recycling, notes that the partnership brings the company “closer to our goal of industrializing our solution to offer real, scalable sustainability solutions to the market.”
