National Composites Week (NCW), taking place the week of Aug. 21-25, 2023, continues to celebrate the industry’s innovation, economic contributions and proliferation, and build awareness through a series of social, virtual and in-person events.

This year’s theme is “Composites Are Now.” True to this phrase, the industry is quickly evolving, always looking (and moving) forward. Its capabilities to lightweight components and structures, provide optimal mechanical properties and enhanced longevity and a host of other benefits make composites significant to the challenges we currently face as a society — sustainability and reduced carbon emissions being a couple of prime examples.

Over the course of five days, we encourage the composites supply chain — raw material suppliers, convertors, designers, toolmakers, fabricators, educators, students, etc. — to shed light on their operations, capabilities, products and even its workers. Whether it’s social media, traditional media, video or in-person events, make sure to use the #NationalCompositesWeek and #CompositesAreNow hashtags to get involved. Furthermore, if using social media, tag CompositesWorld in your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn posts and we will reshare/repost.

How are you, or your company making a difference in the industry? And how can you draw attention the value and importance of composites manufacturing? The how to get involved is completely up to you. CW has provided some suggestions that might suit your needs, which can be viewed on the National Composites Week website. We also encourage you to take a look back on social media to past NCW celebration posts, should you require additional guidance. Other NCW assets can be downloaded here.

Most importantly, have fun with your National Composites Week event — the composites industry is dynamic and creative, and we are confident you can apply that same dynamism and creativity to your celebration.
