SHD Composites invests in new Group Technical Center
The Technical Center extend the company’s prepreg development and testing capabilities and adds to its level of global customer services.

Following on the heels of establishing European- and U.S.-based manufacturing facilities, SHD Composites (Sleaford, U.K.) reported on Oct. 16 to have made further investments in a new Group Technical Center based in Sleaford, U.K. The SHD team moved into the new facility in August and have reportedly supplemented what is said to be an already extensive product development and testing capability, with a new 250-kilonewton (kN) mechanical test rig. According to the company, SHD now has ample in-house capacity to fully characterize its prepreg materials over a range of operating environments, at both elevated and sub-ambient temperatures.
SHD’s new Technical Center provides the base for a dedicated team of R&D staff, formulation chemists, application engineers and technicians, and further adds to the level of global service provided to SHD customers.
