CAMX 2017 preview: LMT Onsrud
LMT Onsrud LP (Waukegan, IL, US) is launching an all-new line of diamond film-coated cutting tools designed specifically for laminated carbon fiber materials.
LMT Onsrud LP (Waukegan, Illinois) is launching an all-new line of diamond film-coated cutting tools designed specifically for laminated carbon fiber materials. The four new tooling series were created to reduce and prevent the delamination of carbon fiber layers during cutting to provide exceptional edge finish. The 66-500 Series is a multi-flute composite router for either roughing or finishing applications. Depending on the application, this series has three standard point styles; burr, end mill and drill. For a universal range of roughing, semi-finishing and finishing applications, the 66-750 Series provides a low-helix design for increased radial depth of cuts with better chip evacuation, resulting in longer tool life. The 66-775 Rougher Finisher Series combines a roughing and finishing design for reduced cutting time while providing an good material edge finish. With an optimized geometry to eliminate delamination, the 66-800 Compression Series is designed to improve shearing of the fibers during cutting. This series is available in four- and six-flute geometries. Booth B35.
