Workshop on Recycled Carbon Fiber Composites
The Workshop on “Recycled Carbon Fibres for high value composites” will take place Nov. 28, 2019 at the Palazzo Granafei-Nervegna in Brindisi, Italy. The event is organized by the research organization CETMA (Brindisi) and industrial group Suez (Paris, France), with collaboration from carbon fiber recycling specialist ELG Carbon Fibre (Coseley, U.K.) and endorsement from aerospace, defense and security company Leonardo Co. (Rome, Italy).
The workshop aims to encourage an effective communication among the companies of the value chain. The latest developments and innovations on recycled carbon fibers will be showcased by important companies in the sector, and the presentations will be focused on recycled carbon fiber properties, composite material transformation processes, equipment
and applications.
Presentations will be given by two leaders in the field of recycled carbon fibers at the global level: Torsten Müller from Fraunhofer ICT (Pfinztal, Germany), who will focus on transportation field, and Frazer Barnes from ELG Carbon Fibre, who will contextualize the role of recycling in the development of the carbon fiber industry.
The workshop is part of the dissemination activities of the REVALUE project, which stands for “REcycled carbon fibres for high VALUE composites.”

SAMPE 2020 call for abstracts
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE, Diamond Bar, Calif., U.S.) has issued a call for abstracts for the SAMPE 2020 conference and exhibition to be held May 4-7, 2020 in Seattle, Wash., U.S.
SAMPE 2020 is seeking high-quality technical papers to present to the event’s 3,000-plus attendees. Industry leaders, academicians, graduate students, researchers, engineers, chemists and business professionals are encouraged to submit an abstract. Technical papers typically focus on research, development and applications in advanced materials and processes.
The deadline for abstract submissions is Nov. 15, 2019, and approvals will be notified mid-December.

World of Filament Winding 2019
MF Tech Srl. (Argentan, France) announces its World of Filament Winding 2019 convention, to be held Nov. 26-27, 2019 in Ermenonville, France.
In 2005, the last convention was held dedicated to filament winding. After 13 years, the company has decided to again bring together all stakeholders of the filament winding industry. Since then, the world has changed, the company says: as mobile phones have become intelligent smartphones, industrial equipment has become more productive, using lightweight design and powerful drives. The need for energy-efficient structures in various structural applications can be fulfilled using composite materials. To this end, filament winding has reinforced its position in this new world, and new markets will continue to emerge.
