Flaris Lar 1 begins flight testing

Constructed of carbon fiber prepreg, Flaris Lar 1 is currently the world’s smallest single engine business jet.

Flaris (Podgórzyn, Poland) has announced that flight testing has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (London, U.K.), and that the jet had its first successful flight on April 5.

“We would like to thank the CAA Chairman and the entire Team of Specialist from the Department of Aviation Technology at CAA for supporting the development of Polish innovative structures Flaris,” says Rafał Ładziński, the originator and manufacturer of the jet.

Equipped with an FJ33-5A turbofan engine, Flaris Lar 1 is the world’s smallest single engine business jet with a maximum takeoff mass of 1700 kg. The plane is constructed from carbon fiber composite prepreg. It is optimized for quick flights at around 7800 meters (25,000 feet, has a  maximum velocity of 750 km/h, and a range of 3000 kilometers.
