IBEX transitions to virtual event
IBEX Online: A Virtual Experience, held Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2020, is offering a selection of new content for its Education Conference and daily keynote sessions.

The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), being held on Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2020 recently announced that it has transitioned to a virtual event. IBEX Online: A Virtual Experience is a free trade event designed to allow the industry to come together in a safe and productive environment.
IBEX Online: A Virtual Experience will include virtual matchmaking and connection recommendations. Registered visitors will be able to interact with exhibitors by requesting meetings and information, and chat live with booth staff. Exhibiting companies will display their products and services in customized virtual booths offering in-depth product detail, video content and interactive meetings. New products for 2020 will be on display as well as the 2020 Innovation Award product entries. Exhibiting companies will be divided into pavilions. The Composites Pavilion is a destination for professionals who want to see the latest in materials, processes and products.
The Education Conference, which is said to be a key component of the event, will featuring a selection of new content for 2020. The sessions will be delivered through a combination of live-stream and pre-recorded presentations, complete with interactive Q&A sessions and one-on-one conversations.
Produced by the show’s education partners, Professional BoatBuilder, ABYC, NMEA, ABBRA, AMI and IBEX co-owner NMMA, the IBEX Education Conference is offered in eight tracks: Design and Engineering; Construction Methods and Materials; Management and Policy; Marine Electrical Systems; Marine Onboard Systems; Marina and Boatyard Operations; Survey and Repair; and new for this year, Emerging Topics.
The event offers an unlimited Full Conference Education pass for $245, which will extend the opportunity to view sessions through Oct. 30, 2020 to ensure visitors and exhibitors have the opportunity to take advantage of all of the content beyond the event days. Some of the sessions planned include: Bonding to Non-Composite Materials, Large Scale Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) for Marine Plugs, Molds, Models and Parts and The Future of Alternative Materials.
In addition, IBEX notes that several free events will take place throughout the IBEX experience. Daily keynote sessions will cover the IBEX Opening Session & Innovation Awards Presentation, Charting the Course of Sustainability, and Coming Out Ahead: Leading During Uncertain Times. Keynote Sessions will be free for participants, though advanced event registration is required.
