Kineco Kaman awarded $12 million export contract from BAE Systems
Goa-based composites company has supplied more than 700 carbon fiber consoles for the Boeing P-8 Poseidon aircraft over the last 10 years.
Kineco Kaman Composites India (Pilerne Goa, India) has been awarded a $12.39 million contract from BAE Systems (Farnborough, U.K.) to manufacture and export fully assembled composite Mission Crew Workstations (consoles) for the Boeing P-8 Poseidon, a long-range, multi-mission patrol and reconnaissance aircraft, 12 of which are operated by the Indian Navy.
Kineco Kaman has been engaged on this program since 2013 and has supplied more than 700 consoles to BAE Systems. The consoles are fabricated from carbon fiber prepreg and a combination of multiple monolithic sandwich panels sandwich materials as well as different bill of material items including customized hardware. The console assembly is painted and finished to aerospace standards.
Kineco Kaman has been awarded several Gold Supplier awards by BAE Systems for its 100% on-time delivery and quality performance. In 2020, it was awarded the BAE Systems “Partner2Win Supplier of the Year” award for its exceptional performance. Bae Systems maintains a global supply chain that currently includes includes 79 Indian companies.
