Managing Composites has also spun off The Native Lab, dedicated to spreading composites knowledge and making composites accessible for everyone. “All the hands-on experience that our engineers have gathered through their previous experiences, training and workshops has led us to create online courses so that everyone, in just a few hours, can learn practical information that is directly applicable,” explains Tommaso Müllejans, program manager for The Native Lab. “Most people prefer to learn a new language with a native speaker. Our instructors in Managing Composites and The Native Lab are native in the use and applications of composite materials, and we transfer that knowledge and expertise in a way that is engaging and fun, but also quickly usable.”

The Native Lab offers a variety of training courses related to composites. All of these use a proven learning model, Müllejans explains,  that includes at least two of three main learning styles — visual, auditory and kinesthetic. The courses also follow a storyline and use gaming elements to keep students engaged and promote interaction as well as a challenging, competitive atmosphere for learning.

Both live and self-paced courses are currently offered online including:

  • Introduction to Composites (English, self-paced, free)
  • Composite Materials (English, self-paced)
  • Introduction to Monocoque Design (English, self-paced, free)
  • Monocoque Design (English, live)
  • Introduction to CATIA (Spanish, self-paced, free)
  • Monocoque Design with Composite Materials (English)

In order to achieve their mission to encourage more widespread use of composites, Managing Composites and The Native Lab also regularly publish webinars and share a wide range of information daily on their LinkedIn pages.
