Teijin Group (Tokyo, Japan) companies Teijin Carbon America, Renegade Materials and Teijin Aramid are showcasing sustainable composite solutions. Users can learn about the group’s ideas for the circular economy and recycling processes, as well as discuss challenges and solutions for a healthier planet.

Teijin’s network of materials companies spans various fields, ranging from high-performance carbon and aramid fibers to industrial textiles and cost-effective prepreg composite solutions. Teijin’s mission is to deliver eco-friendly solutions across multiple industries and applications, including pressure vessels, aerospace, and defense and commercial aircraft construction.

Teijin is also dedicated to acquiring appropriate certifications for sustainable production and product development. In the past years, Teijin says it has continuously striven to minimize its carbon footprint and global impact, while also supporting customers on their own sustainability journeys. This year, Teijin Aramid achieved the EcoVadis Gold Medal recognition, placing the company in the top 5% of all companies across all industries globally and in the top 3% of all man-made fiber manufacturers worldwide.

“As a manufacturing company based in the U.S., we have the opportunity and the responsibility to innovate sustainable solutions throughout the entire product life cycle. Whether through lightweight construction, using upcycled materials or pursuing sustainable production, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint.” says Mark Shioleno, vice president of sales, Teijin Carbon America Inc.

Jan Roos, chief sustainability officer, adds: “Our purpose is clear: to pioneer an ethically grounded, sustainability-driven and socially aware way forward. This dedication to sustainability is fundamental to our business, fueling circularity, energy transition and propelling growth. By collaborating with our partners on sustainability initiatives, we’re building a sustainable future for all.”

Teijin Carbon has been awarded the ISCC Plus certification for its production in Germany and Japan, and is on track to receive the same certification in the U.S. in the coming months. This accreditation enables the Teijin Carbon Group to prove to its customers sustainable products. Teijin Carbon says it is working toward establishing sustainability standards, promoting ecological innovations and fostering partnerships for a more sustainable world.

“Sustainability is essential to Renegade’s business, enabling resource availability and planetary health,” emphasizes Matthew Trombly, president of Renegade Materials Corp. “As intermediate material manufacturers, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint. By focusing on responsible sourcing and waste reduction, we protect natural resources and enhance efficiency.”
