Prepare to be captivated by innovation at CAMX 2023! The Oct. 30 – Nov. 2 event, taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga., U.S., is offering a balance of technical and educational features so you can get the most out of your three days on the show floor.

Promising to be the largest CAMX seen since 2019, attendees can expect 500+ of exhibitors, 23 education sessions, four pre-conference tutorials, five campfire sessions, 90+ technical papers, 145+ speakers, three tours and 11 complimentary education sessions. Organizers are bringing back favorites such as the ACE and CAMX Awards, podcasting provided by Jonathan Taylor of Composites Weekly, the CAMX Theater, “Good Day, CAMX” and more. Some new activities returning include poster sessions and even the chance to add some new beats to the show floor by anonymously submitting your song suggestions to CAMX 2023 playlist. As the show lands on Halloween this year, organizers are also promising several tricks and treats planned to celebrate, including encouraging those attending to dress their best in a favorite Halloween costume.

To best prepare, CW has compiled a list of solicited previews that highlight more than 130 CAMX exhibitors and the software, materials, equipment and services and live demonstrations they will feature in their booths. Part 1 covers 67 of these previews in alphabetical order, linked below. Part 2 of this compilation, to go live Oct. 11, will feature the rest not listed here.

  • 3A Core Materials/Baltek: Composite manufacturers are now able to design and build lightweight composite sandwich panels that can “hold a screw” far more easily using 3A Core Materials’ Airex W.I.S.H. core.
  • 9T Labs: 9T Labs displays its Additive Fusion Technology (AFT) Red Series platform and real-world applications, in addition to announcing new collaborations and its first Sustainability Report.  
  • A+ Composites GmbH: Dynamic relationships with suppliers and customers drive A+ Composites’ ability to provide a variety of UD tapes designed to meet evolving industry needs.
  • Abaris Training Resources: Celebrating 40 years, Abaris Training Resources returns to CAMX presenting courses offerings for advanced composites education, as well as engineering consultation services and other technical assistance.
  • Accudyne Systems: Accudyne Systems is developing custom equipment solutions with high-temperature composite components for the aerospace industry.
  • Accurate Pattern Inc.: A new five-axis router rounds out Accurate Patterns’ capabilities in precise toolmaking, patterns, plugs, fixtures and gauges for fiberglass fabricators, thermal formers, carbon fiber parts manufacturers and others. 
  • Acrolab: Acrolab features its Isomandrel technology, which redistributes high thermal energy uniformly over the entire filament winding mandrel surface, providing predictable and consistent energy input into the part and removing the need for oven cure.
  • Aerovac: As a part of Composites One, Aerovac is committed to helping businesses with their composite solution needs to ensure precision, quality and efficiency in demanding manufacturing processes.
  • Akpa Chemical: Akpa Chemical features its global supply of organic peroxides, polymerization initiators, accelerators and paint driers.
  • Allertex: Schott & Meissner, Kastilo and Held Technologie join Allertex of America in featuring double belt presses, high-quality laminator belts and more.
  • AOC: AOC’s Firepel R003 resin technology series are low viscosity, non-filled and non-halogenated polyester resins that meet the challenges of EV battery enclosures, mass transportation and architectural projects.
  • Arcadia Aerospace: Arcadia Aerospace Industries demonstrates its commitment to navigating the rapidly changing aerospace manufacturing landscape with robotic-based machines and motion control systems, certified facilities for NDT services and conducted training and recruitment.
  • Arkema: Arkema’s broad portfolio of products for composites fabricators aim to enhance performance, durability and sustainability.
  • Ascentium Capital: Ascentium Capital offers a range of financing options to equipment providers, distributors and small businesses nationwide to better capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Autometrix Inc.: The Autometrix Fusion Gripper, complementary to Radium or Argon cutting systems, easily grips and pulls materials with minimized direct contact and reduced manual effort. 
  • Avient: Avient features its thermoplastic, thermoset and engineered fiber solutions, including ballistic and sustainable material options.
  • Bethel Co. Ltd: The Thermowave Analyzer, a periodic heating and radiation thermometry system from Bethel Co. Ltd. enables highly accurate, precise and contactless thermal diffusivity measurement for new material development and inspection.
  • Biesse America: Biesse America highlights the Rover Plast A FT, capable of adaptable milling and cutting operations for plastics and composite materials with high precision and a quality finish.
  • Bost Carbon Materials Co. Ltd.: Bost Carbon Materials, established in 2012 in Hunan, China, develops and sells rigid composite felt, high-purity graphite felt, soft felt and carbon-carbon composite materials.
  • Breton S.p.A : Breton S.p.A. is exhibiting the Hawk E2, ideal for milling and trimming operations at high speed on parts with complex 3D shapes.
  • BYK: BYK USA is featuring its BYK-P 9920 solution, particularly well-suited for closed-mold composite applications, as well as other additives for the composites market.
  • C.R. Onsrud: C.R. Onsrud invites attendees to learn more about its five-axis Q-Series and other composite CNC machinery options that offer fast, accurate material processing.
  • CECA Asia: CECA Asia, a professional composites organization, offers its more than 7,000 members training, symposiums, conferences, event and other opportunities to grow India’s composites hub.
  • Center Street Technologies: Center Street Technologies’ large-scale hybrid 3D printer, paired with its advanced manufacturing confluence (AMC) system, provides a comprehensive additive/subtractive process flow on a single system.
  • Century Design: With automated precision, reduced waste and flexible production, Century Design’s OnDemand complete machine solution has the potential to provide a strategic breakthrough for composite material manufacturers.
  • Cimbar: Cimbar is featuring its product portfolio of mineral-based fillers including alumina trihydrate (ATH).
  • Composites Horizons: Composites Horizons LLC showcases capabilities in high-temperature composite structures and assemblies manufacturing, including polyimides and CMC.
  • Composites One: Stop by Composites One’s booth to see featured composite solutions, watch live demonstrations at the Demo Zone next door and better understand the level of technical support the distributor provides to composites customers.
  • Composites One/Closed Mold Alliance demo: The Composites One and Closed Mold Alliance demo zone returns with short but engaging exhibitions featuring vacuum infusion, reusable bag molding, light RTM and other technologies through the show.
  • Concordia Engineered Fibers: An intimate blending of dissimilar fibers in a continuous filament format, Concordia’s engineered commingled yarns provide customized solutions.
  • Conifer Systems: Committed to clean energy, Conifer Systems’ wide range of emissions control systems enable companies to control VOCs, hazardous air pollutants and other greenhouse gases.
  • Cygnet Texkimp: Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about Cygnet Texkimp’s creels, filament winding, automation and handling, and recycling, with a special focus on web converting technologies.
  • Dia-Stron: Dia-Stron presents fibra.auto, a new, customizable reference platform for automated sample handling and the LEX/IFSS interfacial shear module.
  • Dieffenbacher: Materials, process and automation solutions from Dieffenbacher enable Industry 4.0, high output, optimized quality and reproducible composites manufacturing.
  • Distran: Distran is demonstrating how its ultrasonic camera technology rapidly locates leaks during the vacuum bagging process, and reconstructs their position in real time.
  • Dolphitech: 2D array ultrasonic NDT for composites, metals and other materials is made possible through Dolpitech’s dolphicam and dolphicam2+ matrix transducer technology.
  • Eastman Machine Co.: The S135 static cutting table from Eastman Machine Co. provides a compact solution for those seeking to automate processes with a minimal footprint availability.
  • EconCore/ThermHex: Together, EconCore and ThermHex are providing a first look at new product variations for additional lightweight opportunities, including high-performance thermoplastic cores and solar panels with a honeycomb structure.
  • Elliott Company: Elliott Co. of Indianapolis is featuring its Elfoam rigid unfaced polyiso/polyurethane composite core.
  • Engineered Fiber Technology (EFT): Engineered Fibers Technology (EFT) is exhibiting a range of its precision short-cut fibers and nanofibrillated pulps in addition to its work in contract R&D and product support.
  • Engineering Technology Corp. (ETC): ETC exhibits solutions like winding equipment and software, automated workcells and integrated robotics, as well as a new line of tape wrappers, at its booth with Zoltek. 
  • ERG Aerospace: ERG Aerospace’s Duocel silicon carbide foam has a working temperature of 3,600ºF, designed for hypersonic application and high-temperature, corrosive environments.
  • Eurovac: Eurovac’s dust and fume extraction systems reduce contamination at the source, ensuring a safe, healthy and clean environment.  
  • Extec: Extec highlights the Labcut 5000, an advanced tool built for rapid, dependable and accurate cutting of test specimens. 
  • Fairmat: Through its proprietary recycling process, Fairmat exhibits Fairmat Quest and Fairmat Infinity, advanced material products that are sustainable, high-performing, lightweight and ideal for aesthetic purposes.
  • Fiberglass Coatings: FiberGlass Coatings provides B2B and B2C and services to meet fiberglass and coating product needs.
  • Fives: Fives is displaying its end-to-end composite manufacturing solutions for attendees, including lamination, forming and inspection technologies.
  • Foam Equipment & Consulting Co.: Infinite Hybrid, a technology from Foam Equipment & Consulting Co., enables continuous production without secondary operations.
  • Freeman Manufacturing & Supply Co.: One-stop shop supplier Freeman Manufacturing & Supply is featuring its tried-and-true composites industry staples, as well as a more recent addition, the RenShape BM-5060 epoxy board.
  • Gallois SP2 Carbon Co.: Gallois SP2 Carbon is highlighting its specialty carbon fiber-based materials, graphite and reactive resins to achieve high-performance composite applications.
  • Gefran: Gefran introduces the QE2008-W, a non-invasive, magnetically mounted strain solution with Bluetooth transmission that uses sensors to accurately measure and maintain equipment quality.
  • General Plastics Manufacturing Co.: General Plastics Manufacturing Co. highlights its high-temperature Last-A-Foam products and in-house production services.
  • GracoRoberts: Pacific Coast Composites emphasizes its purchase by GracoRoberts which will enhance its composite materials offerings to the aerospace industry and enable quicker turnaround.
  • Harcourt Industrial Inc.: The result of extensive R&D, BlackBoard by Harcourt Industrial enhances efficiency, reduce costs and improve overall manufacturing performance compared to Invar tools.
  • Hauschild Speedmixer: The original German-made Hauschild SpeedMixer, enabling the homogenous mixing or grinding of composite materials is well-suited for laboratory work and small production quantities.
  • Hawthorn Composites: Hawthorn Composites deploys novel manufacturing methods and low-cost materials to produce high-quality, complex composite parts.
  • H.B. Fuller Aerospace: H.B. Fuller Aerospace manufactures, packages and delivers a variety of sealants, structural adhesives, low outgassing epoxy systems and more to industry and customer requirements.
  • Held Technologie: Flexible and robust double belt presses from Held Technologie are adaptable to various base composite material requirements to produce top-quality, long-lasting products.
  • Hennecke: Hennecke, in partnership with Engel, will be displaying how the clearmelt method, a process that enables users to manufacture durable, scratch-proof and self-curing polyurethane surfaces for automobile interior and exterior components.
  • Heraeus Noblelight: Humm3 technology is a broadband flash lamp heat source for AFP, ATL, filament winding and more composite applications, delivering power previously only available from lasers.
  • Herone: Herone GmbH is showcasing a set of tubes, shafts and profiles, all of which demonstrate the feasibility of rCF discontinuous fibers molded into complex thermoplastic composite parts. 
  • HRC/Engenuity: FiRMA, Engenuity’s new approach to SMC, uses a predictive technique that accurately reflects material properties and determine the performance range an SMC part or structure will exhibit.
  • Hufschmied Machining: Hufschmied’s machining systems, particularly the company’s 194/195 T-Rex cutting tools and carbide cutting blades, are being presented for use on plastics, composites and other materials.
  • INEOS: Derakane and Derakane Signia resins from INEOS Composites have high resistance to oxidizing acids, solvents, brine and caustics.
  • International Thermal Systems (ITS): International Thermal Systems (ITS) offers a range of equipment that maximizes manufacturing efficiencies and minimizes energy consumption that include OOA composite curing ovens.
  • IPCO US LLC: ScatterPro precision scattering systems and double belt presses with PTFE and steel belts, or a combination of both, are being highlighted by IPCO US at this year’s CAMX trade show. 
  • IPS Adhesives: IPS Adhesive’s Scigrip brand introduces SG400LSE, a transluscent, low-color adhesive that has proven its ability to bond to FRPS, metals, plastics and other polymers.
  • IST UV: IST Metz is exhibiting its portfolio of high-performance UV Arc and UV LED systems applicable for a range of composites processes.
