A partnership between the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) and the Institute for Technological Research (IPT) has resulted in the first postgraduate course in composites and polymers in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, for engineering, architecture, design and administration professionals, as well as people interested in deepening their knowledge in the area. The first courses will begin Sept. 13.
“Since 2012, when we launched postgraduate course in Brazil, we had been aiming to bring it to São Paulo, the largest composites market in the country. Now, with the support of IPT, we are able to make this project viable,” says Erika Bernardino Aprá, president of ALMACO. To date, the course has been promoted in the cities of Curitiba, Caxias do Sul and Joinville, with about one hundred graduates, ALMACO says.
Program faculty are made up of IPT researchers and market professionals, who bring extensive experience in composites. The postgraduate courses will take place at IPT headquarters and the Composites Technology Center (CETECOM), both located in São Paulo University, as well as at IPT Light Structures Center (LEL), in São José dos Campos.
