According to the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO), the 2020 Brazil: Top of Mind of Composites Industry survey, which serves to annually awards several companies in the Brazilian composites sector in 27 categories, including raw materials, processes and equipment, etc., began in October. Winners, says ALMACO, will be known on December 10, through a video that will be aired on the organization’s social networks.

According to ALMACO, the novelty of this edition is the inclusion of the Fair Winds category, which will reward a company in the composites sector that stood out to members of the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (ABEEólica).

“This initiative aims to highlight the importance of wind energy for our market,” comments Erika Bernardino Aprá, president of ALMACO, entity responsible for organizing the Top of Mind. In 2019, wind power generation was responsible for 89% of the consumption of epoxy resin-based composites produced in Brazil.

Through electronic and spontaneous voting, representatives of the composites production chain and final consumers will choose the most-remembered companies in each category. On November 9, ALMACO reports that it announced the names of the three most-voted, and on December 10, at 7 p.m., the association will post a video with the list of winners on its social networks and website. “Due to the pandemic, it will not be possible to hold our traditional trophy delivery ceremony,” lamentS Erika.

The Top of Mind of Composites Industry 2020 is an initiative supported by the following companies: CPIC, Fibermaq, Gatron, INEOS Composites, LyondellBasell, Novapol, NovaScott, Owens Corning, Purcom and Texiglass.
