Caracol launches US operations with new Texas facility
Local North American headquarters based in Austin, Texas, U.S. will further the additive manufacturing company’s manufacturing and customer support and rapid operations growth.
After years of development the large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) market and working with local clients and partners, Caracol (Barlassina, Italy) has officially kicked off its operations in the U.S. with the opening of its local headquarter in Austin, Texas. The new facility is the tangible result of the internationalization project that is being carried out Caracol with the support of its strategic, legal and financial advisors Growth Capital, FieldFisher and ICP Americas.
With this strategic investment, the company will be able to produce and assemble its integrated hardware and software LFAM platforms, Heron AM, directly in the U.S. This will better guarantee local quality and certifications standards, faster delivery times, dedicated and timely service and application development support to all North American customers and partners.
Caracol says this is just the latest investment in North America, where the company has already brought together a dedicated local team, has joined forces with top Tier partners for distribution and parts manufacturing and plans to triple its operations in the region over the next 2 years.
“We marks an important milestone for our company’s journey and international expansion. The North American market is quickly growing in the adoption of LFAM, and Caracol is proud to play a key role here,” says Francesco De Stefano, cofounder and CEO of Caracol. “Thanks to our new U.S. headquarter and local operations, we’ll be able to push the limits of this industry further by delivering to our North American customers a top quality and locally manufactured technology.”
Caracol has partnered with TyRex Group, a manufacturing and innovative group of companies in Austin, Texas, U.S., to open its facility in the region. This particular state was chosen by Caracol for its intersection of technological development and the strong presence of advanced manufacturing capabilities.
The headquarters’ opening ceremony was held during Formnext Forum on Aug. 28. Here the company opened the doors of the new facility to its partners and customers, and organized live showcasing of its technology and a panel of experts to debate the future of LFAM.
