Norplex Advanced Composites becomes Montana Advanced Composites
Rebranding coincides with further investment in prepreg manufacturing capabilities.
On Oct. 31, Norplex Advanced Composites (Manhattan, Mont., U.S.), a developer and manufacturer of advanced composite materials, announced that the company will begin operating under the new name “Montana Advanced Composites” (MAC) effective immediately.
MAC develops and manufactures hot melt composite prepregs and laminates that help customers solve design, part or process challenges. Located outside of Bozeman, Montana, MAC is privately held and 100% U.S. owned and operated.
“The rebranding reflects our strategic direction. Not only does it reflect where we are and what we make, but it also captures who we are — an enterprising and collaborative team that is both highly skilled and easy to do business with,” says Lucy Houchin, general manager of MAC.
The rebranding comes at a time when MAC is deepening its commitment to the advanced materials market. The company has recently invested in a state-of-the-art 50-inch-wide hot melt film line as well as a second 50-inch-wide hot melt prepreg line for the production of high-performance, premium products.
“We’re excited to bring the new prepreg capacity online. It rounds out our manufacturing capabilities at MAC and positions us to deliver the full lineup of advanced composites to the market,” says Tom Merrell, CEO of Industrial Dielectrics Holdings, the parent company for Montana Advanced Composites.
The new film line will be online by the end of 2024 with the second prepreg line to follow in Q1 2025. Both assets will be housed in MAC’s custom-built manufacturing facility outside of Bozeman, Montana.
