Saertex (Saerbeck, Germany) announced on August 27 that it will have a new production site in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The company notes that this new facility will join its 14 other global production sites. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the original opening of the Ciudad Juárez facility has been postponed to early 2021. Regardless, Saertex says preparations are still in full swing, and the company regularly reviews the schedule to adapt to the current situation.

Like its facilities in Huntersville, N.A., U.S., and Indaiatube, Brazil, the Ciudad Juárez plant will enable Saertex to meet the growing demand for composites materials in the Americas, and help the company conserve resources by shortening delivery routes.

According to Saertex, Ciudad Juárez was also a strategic decision. It is considered one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico, and international companies such as Bosch Stuttgart, Germany), Siemens (Munich, Germany), Honeywell (Morris Plains, N.J., U.S.), and Foxconn (Taipei, Taiwan) have settled there. In addition, the area has become an important hub for the production of rotor blades for the wind industry.
