SAMPE North America seeks active volunteers for technical committees
The global professional member society encourages SAMPE members and non-members who are interested in actively engaging, sharing expertise and networking to develop advanced technological solutions.
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE, Diamond Bar, Calif., U.S.) is seeking volunteers — SAMPE members and non-members — who are willing to actively engage with the Society and their peers to share their expertise, interest and networks in developing the following technical committees (TC). SAMPE invites active, diverse (industry, career stage, gender, geography, et cetera) volunteers to join its team.

“SAMPE welcomes participation from professionals who are interested in developing technology solutions to modern-day challenges,” Raj Manchanda, chief technology officer (CTO) at SAMPE North America, says. “Collectively we can accelerate the circular economy and clean energy solutions for a net-zero future. Material and process [M&P] innovations will assist in the development of novel transportation/mobility, energy generation and storage, and construction and infrastructure options for the environment and our community.”
Each SAMPE Technical Committee will develop their purpose, formulate their own meeting schedule and hold regular online meetings throughout the year, with in-person meetings at industry conferences such as the SAMPE Conference & Exhibition and the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX). Attention will be paid to state-of-the-art advances, opportunities and challenges within each committee’s purview and will be disseminated to the M&P community on a regular basis.
Further criteria includes:
- TC members are not required to be SAMPE members.
- They are expected to be actively engaged in all aspects of the work undertaken by the group.
- Each TC will participate in an annual report available to the industry.
TC members will benefit from the following:
- Expanded professional networks.
- Insight into advanced materials and process solutions.
- Leadership opportunities.
- Address real-world challenges.
Applications to join a technical committee are currently being reviewed as part of the planning for the 2023 fiscal year. If you’d like to get ahead of the curve and shape the future of our industry, send Raj Manchanda your one-page write-up and CV today.
