Integris Composites (formerly TenCate Advanced Armour, Vienna, Va., U.S.), a global developer and manufacturer of composite armor protection for elite military and law enforcement units, showcases its new “make your own shield” concept and soft body armor vests featuring the company’s Rapid Don/Doff system. Integris employs a blend of high-strength materials, including high-density polyethylene (HDPE), aramids and ceramics, ensuring optimal protection and customization for clients.

The customizable ballistic shield service targets police agencies and military units, enabling them to tailor shields based on specific bullet resistance requirements, weight preferences and unique shapes to align with training procedures. This includes specialized cut-outs, such as curved shapes for firearm maneuverability.

Previously, bespoke shield orders faced challenges due to the industry’s reliance on costly custom molds. James Williamson, Integris Composite’s sales manager for France, Spain, and Portugal, explains, “Our new manufacturing equipment has significantly reduced nonrecurring mold costs, making personalized shields feasible for smaller orders with shorter lead times and cost-effectiveness akin to larger series. This capability offers customers the choice between off-the-shelf solutions and affordable, customized options.” Moreover, bulk orders are no longer required. “Units no longer need to invest exorbitantly for personalized equipment,” Williamson adds. “They can order precisely what they need without excessive costs or quantities.”

Integris Composites maintains its quarter-century legacy of prioritizing safety, reliability and survivability. The company specializes in engineering and manufacturing composite armor solutions for land vehicles, aircraft, naval craft, protection housing for sensitive technology, and personal protection gear.
