Kordsa expands thermoplastic prepreg lineup
The new woven prepregs are offered with polypropylene or polyamide resin matrices in sheets up to 1.2 by 1.2 meters.

Kordsa (Izmut, Turkey) has expanded its thermoplastic prepreg lineup with the release of a woven carbon prepreg with resin matrices of polypropylene or polyamide. Offered as sheets, the products have maximum dimensions of 1.2 by 1.2 meters; the resin systems are specifically formulated by Kordsa. Further, the company says the technology can be applied to automotive and industrial sectors and was designed to help Kordsa achieve its goals of increased fuel efficiency, reduced carbon emissions and reduced manufacturing cycle time. Kordsa says it also offers epoxy, hybrid, cyanate ester, polyvinyl butyral (PVB), phenolic and modified phenolic prepregs with a variety of reinforcement fiber types, including carbon, glass, aramid and hybrid.
