Experience a paradigm shift in composites manufacturing quality control (QC) with Extec’s (Enfield, Conn., U.S.) Labcut 5000 advanced composite plate saw. This tool is built to cut test specimens with high precision and can easily handle materials up to 50 mm thick, catering to a vast spectrum of needs, the company reports. An optional upgrade extends the cutting range to 100 mm for even broader versatility, underlining Extec’s commitment to meet the most demanding of manufacturing specifications.
The Labcut 5000 contributes to the consistent, accurate and efficient production of test specimens. Equipped with a programmable CNC fence and autonomous machining capabilities, the technology introduces a new form of automation into quality control (QC) procedures to execute multiple specimen cuts without user intervention. Errors are said to be minimized as well; all cuts mirror the accuracy of the previous one, promoting an optimized level of consistency, and reducing the room for human error, a perennial challenge in composites QC. Dependable test results for an accurate testing processing are achieved as well.
Crafted with stainless steel cladding and fully encased drive components, the Labcut 5000 stands strong against the rugged conditions of composites manufacturing environments. This robust build ensures consistent performance over time, further strengthening reliability in the QC process. Large access doors facilitate easy maintenance, reducing downtime and maintaining a steady workflow.
Across various sectors, Extec says the Labcut 5000 satisfies distinctive and stringent QC standards. Prioritizing safety and speed, the tool is is designed with a fully enclosed, interlocking safety system, adheres to CE safety standards and even features an extraction port for optional dust or mist systems. It provides rapid, dependable, accurate cutting and reduced surface preparation time, promising faster throughput and speeds up to 150 mm/s.
