Honeywell To Boost Nylon 6, 6/6 Production
Honeywell's new nylon 6 and 6/6 production line has the flexibility to produce either or both depending on customer demand.
Honeywell Resins and Chemicals, Morris Township, New Jersey, is planning a hefty production capacity increase for its high-grade nylon 6 resins and nylon 6/6/.6 copolymer to meet global demand for food and protective packaging film and other applications, including engineered plastic components for automotive, consumer and industrial applications.
Due to come on stream in the fourth quarter 2015 at Honeywell’s Chesterfield, Virginia site, the new 88.2 million/lb production line will expand capacity at this facility to 441 million lbs/yr. The new line is designed with the flexibility to produce either or both nylon resin or copolymers, sold under the Aegis brand, as needed to match customer demand.
