AFPT GmbH acquires Alformet BV, celebrates 20 years
Combined know-how and company visions, and the founding of Alformet GmbH, aim to enhance the availability and delivery of high-quality fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite solutions to customers.
AFPT GmbH (Dörth, Germany), a provider of manufacturing equipment for fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites materials, has completed the acquisition of contract manufacturer Alformet BV (Drunen, Netherlands) previously announced in March 2022, and founded Alformet GmbH (Dörth, Germany). Alformet BV has a proven track record of delivering high-quality products using AFPT’s equipment and has developed what it said to be the first online ordering portal for continuously reinforced thermoplastic composite tubes. The acquisition and founding will enhance the companies’ capability to offer high-quality thermoplastic composite solutions, as an alternative to traditional metal products, and marks a milestone in AFPT’s journey as its celebrates its 20th anniversary.
“This move allows us to offer a complete solution to customers looking for metal alternatives, from manufacturing equipment to contract production, and underscores our commitment to excellence,” Coert Kok, managing director of AFPT GmbH, says.
With the acquisition, customers will benefit from the seamless integration of both companies, enabling more efficient and effective thermoplastic composite solutions. The online ordering portal developed by Alformet will further simplify and make convenient the process of obtaining metal alternatives.
“We have worked closely with AFPT for many years and this acquisition is a natural progression of our relationship to offer customers a one-stop-shop for all their metal alternative needs,” Theo Mimpen, managing director of Alformet BV, adds. Combined know-how and company visions aims to increase market penetration of wound thermoplastic products.
