The ITA Group, consisting of the Institute for Textile Technology of RWTH Aachen University (ITA, Germany) and its research and development (R&D) service provider ITA Technologietransfer GmbH (ITA GmbH), have announced a new partnership with Metyx Composites (Istanbul, Turkey) on May 2 at JEC World 2022.
Metyx is a global manufacturer of high-performance technical textiles for applications in the transportation, wind energy, construction, sports and leisure industries. ITA, which is located in the center of the RWTH Aachen
University Campus, is within close proximity to numerous other institutes for lightweight developments.
“The access to ITA’s competencies along the entire textile composite value chain and to the machine parks with more 250 machines from lab scale to industrial scale, as well as the exchange with other partners will be very welcome for our future pre-competitive developments,” Ugur Ustunel, CEO of Metyx Composites, says.
Dr. Christoph Greb, scientific director of the ITA notes that Metyx is welcomed to the institute’s “network and to collaborate in many joint projects and studies on topics like recycling, sustainability, tapes, hybrid yarns and natural fibers, just to name a few.”
