The third annual National Composites Week is almost upon us. Taking place the week of Aug. 23-27, 2021, its goal is to celebrate and bring attention to the myriad ways that composite materials and composites manufacturing contributes to the products and structures that shape the manufacturing landscape today. That celebration can take many forms — including social, virtual and in-person events — more of which are described below.

One of the keys to a successful National Composites Week is make sure it gets attention. Because of this, it will be important that you’re prepared to share images and video of your National Composites Week involvement with local media (newspapers, television stations), social media like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and your company’s own website.

Most of all, we encourage you to have fun with National Composites Week — the composites industry is dynamic and creative, and we are confident you can apply that same dynamism and creativity to your celebration.

The theme of National Composites Week 2021 is “Composites Make…,” with each day of the week focused on a different component of that theme:

  • Monday: Composites Make Life Longer — medical, health
  • Tuesday: Composites Make Life Fun — marine, sporting goods, recreational vehicles
  • Wednesday: Composites Make Lifelong Careers — workforce development
  • Thursday: Composites Make Life Take Flight — aerospace, advanced air mobility (AAM), space
  • Friday: Composites Make Life Better — infrastructure, construction, the future.

The broader goal is to create a National Composites Week event that highlights the importance of composites manufacturing and how you and your company help enhance the lives of the ultimate consumers of the products you make. Whether you’re highlighting your company’s success stories, hosting a virtual/in-person plant tour or simply sharing how your company has and is impacting the composites industry, we want to see it. Regardless of the event, make sure to use hashtags #NationalCompositesWeek and #CompositesMake. Further, tag CompositesWorld in your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn posts and we will re-share/re-post.

For more examples, or if you need some inspiration, put in #NationalCompositesWeek to any social media platform and take a look at how other companies have used the hashtags in past events.
