The Fluency Business Group has revealed its first set of topic sessions for SpaceAM, a premier U.K. conference and exhibition highlighting the use of advanced materials in space technology. In partnership with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC, Swindon, U.K.), SpaceAM will be held at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, U.k., from July 12-13, 2022.
Attendees arriving on day one can expect a keynote introduction from Space DOTS (Oxfordshire) CEO and co-founder, Bianca Cefalo, presenting her session on “Challenging the Status Quo of In-Space Testing for Advanced Materials and Nanotech,” Throughout the day, speakers such as Robert Scudamore, associate director and group manager of TWI (Cambridge), and Rebekka Jurtz, sales and project manager of GEFERTEC (Berlin, Germany), will explore the advancements made in additive manufacturing (AM) including “Laser Direct Energy Deposition of Rocket Nozzles” and “Integration of Qualified WAAM Parts in the Industrial Supply Chain.”
On day two, SpaceAM will blast off with In-Space Technology sessions. Martina Meisnar, materials and process evaluations engineer for the European Space Agency (ESA, Paris, France) will be discussing its initiative for advanced manufacturing technologies for space, while managing director of light steering technologies, Roger Waldock, is set to discuss, “Advances in Beam Steering for Space Applications.”
The Fluency Group notes that sessions will be accompanied by many more exciting topics and subjects that are coming to SpaceAM from around the world. SpaceAM can also confirm preliminary speakers including Joshua Western of Space Forge (Cardiff, U.K.), Cynthia Bouthot of Space Commerce Matters (Boston, Mass., U.S.) and Claire Baker of Toray Advanced Composites (Morgan Hill, Calif., U.S.); alongside exhibitors Gravitilab Aerospace Services (Badersfield, U.K.), ElementSix (Didcot, U.K.), Fluency AM Events Gold Sponsor Cygnet Texkimp (Northwich, U.K.) and SpaceAM Platinum Sponsor, the STFC.
“This program features some of the most unique and exciting lineups SpaceAM has ever seen,” Gemma Smith, Fluency managing director, contends. “As we quickly come up to the event horizon, we look forward to revealing more of what’s in store for this show.”
There are still opportunities to take part in SpaceAM. If you are interested in joining the program, please send a short abstract, along with a bio to info@fluency-group.com.
