CAMX 2022 exhibit preview: Armacell
Armacell’s exhibit lineup emphasizes its wide range of eco-friendly PET foam solutions for composites manufacturing, including ArmaPET Struct, Eco, Curve and Shape.
Armacell (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) offers a wide range of innovative, eco-friendly PET foam solutions for structural and insulation applications based on 100% recycled PET (rPET). Specifically, the company points to its ArmaPET family, featuring a low ecological footprint. ArmaPET products enhance reportedly efficiency throughout the manufacturing process and elevate the life cycle performance of composite structures.
ArmaPET Struct is a versatile and durable solution for structural sandwich applications, with a more environmentally responsible approach, Armacell says. It features minimal fluctuation in product properties and increases process stability. Optimal thermal and dimensional stability facilitates repeatability in production, and high fatigue resistance bolsters long-term performance and low lifetime maintenance. A 100% recycled material, ArmaPET Struct is said to have full range availability globally.
ArmaPET Eco combines insulation and structural integrity, ensuring energy and emission efficiency for decades of use. With secured lifetime insulation performance, the 100% recycled material product is said to prevent degradation by moisture, rodents and insects. Armacell says the robust material enables fast and easy handling. Like ArmaPET Structure, it has full range availability globally.
ArmaPET Curve is designed for recyclable thermoformable micro sandwich solutions produced in continuous manufacturing processes. ArmaPET Curve optimizes micro sandwich strength-to-weigh ratios, has improved 3D thermoformability and is a highly temperature-resistant solution for automotive interiors, according to the company. The 100% recycled material is available in large rolls and sheets.
According to Armacell, ArmaPET Shape particle foam offers maximum design flexibility to produce lightweight rigid 3D foam parts using innovative fusion technology. It offers zero-waste production — no milling or cutting are needed — with foaming directly inside the mold, reducing complexity and thus, increasing production efficiency. Integrated functions such as built-in concept with skins and inserts are possible. ArmaPET Shape also offers high thermal stability.
