BriskHeat manufactures a full line of heaters and temperature controllers, designed to solve a variety of composite curing, repair applications.
BriskHeat Corp. (Columbus, Ohio, U.S.) manufactures a full line of heaters and temperature controllers designed to solve a wide variety of composite curing and repair applications. These solutions are used in industries like aerospace, wind energy, transportation and consumer product manufacture.
BriskHeat’s ACR3 Hot Bonder, for example, is used in techniques like curing wet layups and prepregs, resin infusion and adhesive bonding. Each heating zone is capable of using up to 10 thermocouples to record temperatures in multiple locations of the cure. The screen enables real-time graphing of all temperatures for the specified zone, according to the company, and each zone features a separate built-in vacuum pump and printer for convenience. ACR kits include power and heater cables, vacuum feedthroughs and hoses and thermocouples. They can be purchased with standard-sized blankets. Custom blankets can be purchased for operation up to 30 amps per zone. The base unit is mounted in a study case with wheels, and a second case contains the accessories.
BriskHeat Vacuum Curing and Debulking table is reported to easily heat and debulk composite parts, greatly reducing overall time and cost associated with traditional debulking and autoclave curing with its single-step setup. The sturdy silicone rubber vacuum membrane is capable of up to 800% elongation to fit smoothly across parts. The ramp/soak temperature controller follows the heating cycle programmed by the operator and can be stored for future use. Programs can include up to 12 steps for multiple ramps, soaks and cool-downs. In addition, the two-stage built-in vacuum pump can draw almost 29" of mercury, BriskHeat notes. Vacuum is used to remove gases escaping from the material and ensures the material conforms to the desired shape. Heated tables are used in prototyping, production and repair, are available in three standard sizes or can be customized. Options are available for adding a data recorder, top heating blanket or insulator for energy efficiency.
BriskHeat also highlights its durable SR silicone rubber composite heating blankets. Capable of conforming to a bend radius as small as 0.25", the blanket can be bent repeatedly without fear of wires breaking. These heating blankets can be ordered as replacements to work with other hot bonders when those fail.
BriskHeat sells and services composite manufacturing solutions worldwide with repair centers in the U.S., Europe and China.
