CAMX announces 2020 award finalists
CAMX has announced its finalists for the 2020 CAMX Awards. It will hold the award ceremony Tuesday, September 22.
The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX; Diamond Bar, Calif., U.S.) is proud to announce its 2020 CAMX Awards finalists. The coveted CAMX Award honors two entries that exemplify the CAMX theme of “Combined Strength. Unsurpassed Innovation.” The award allows organizations and individuals to showcase groundbreaking achievements that have the potential to change the composites and advanced materials industry. CAMX will announce the award winners during the CAMX 2020 Virtual General Session on Tuesday, September 22 at 11:00 am ET.
According to event coordinators, the Combined Strength Award recognizes the composites product that best demonstrates a team approach and effort — bringing together knowledge, resources and talent — to use composite materials to solve a problem. Similarly, the Unsurpassed Innovation Award recognizes the composites product that best demonstrates a novel design incorporating low-cost materials for high-volume applications or high-performance applications with low-volume materials, in either case delivering an innovative product with the potential to significantly impact existing or open new markets.
This year's “Combined Strength” finalists include Structural Composites Inc. (Melbourne, Fla., U.S.), Soling SAS (Antioquia, Colombia), LyondellBasell (Houston, Texas, U.S.), the Institute for Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen University (Aachen, Germany) and the 3M Co. (Saint Paul, Minn, U.S.).
This year’s “Unsurpassed Innovation” finalists include Trilion Quality Systems (King of Prussia, Penn., U.S.), EconCore N.V. (Leuven, Belgium), Mighty Buildings Inc., Intexive Consulting, Roboze Spa (Bari, Italy), TRB Lightweight Structures Ltd. (TRB; Cambridgeshire, U.K.) and UTComp (Ontario, Canada).
The CAMX Award booth will include a virtual display of the winning entries and finalists during CAMX 2020, held virtually Sep. 21-24, 2020. A panel of nine industry experts judged entrants on concept and design, value, production and delivery, impact and collaboration.
