Editor’s note: CompositesWorld received several new product and technology announcements ahead of JEC World 2020, which had been scheduled for March 3-5. Although that exhibition was postponed to May, CW is now publishing the announcements we received. This is one of them.
Resin transfer molding (RTM) and resin infusion specialist Composite Integration (Saltash, U.K.; Hall 5, Stand J23) is showcasing its Ciject One RTM/VRTM [vacuum assisted resin transfer molding] injection machine and launching its Automated Infusion Manifold System.
The Ciject One- RTM/VRTM Injection Machine features programmable functions, an extensive level of control options and simplicity of operation. The use of PLC control systems combined with electronic pressure sensors is said to enable accurate regulation of injection pressures and complete process control.
In addition, Composite Integration’s patented modular infusion manifold has been designed to simplify the manufacture of large composite structures by streamlining and automating the infusion process. The system consists of a number of user configurable ports which can be individually actuated to direct material to the required resin feed line or mold inlet. The manifold is fully vacuum- and pressure-rated. After injection, the manifold can be flushed, resulting in a fully reusable system.
The company is exhibiting at JEC World 2020 alongside its French distributor, Diatex. Silicone Composites will also be exhibiting its SC4 Silicone Spray Machine and its silicone membrane technology.
