Raise3D releases 32 new industrial filaments for carbon fiber 3D printer
E2CF 3D printer continues to support fiber-reinforced part printing with 32 new filament options from 16 global filament manufacturers.
Raise3D (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), a global provider of additive manufacturing (AM) solutions for SMEs and LSEs, announces 32 new industrial filaments for the E2CF 3D printer.
The new filaments are said to have a high strength-to-weight ratio and consistent high performance during long-term operations. Raise3D says this makes the filaments particularly suitable for industries like automotive, aerospace and healthcare and for applications such as jigs and fixtures, engineering tooling and numerous industrial end-use parts.
The E2CF 3D printer is a new model specifically intended for fiber-reinforced filaments, based on the E2 Raise3D’s general-purpose 3D printer that stands as a development platform for future, optimized 3D printers. Because of this purpose in its development, the printer is capable of small batch production of fiber-reinforced materials.
The new filaments are the result of a close collaboration between Raise3D and 16 worldwide filament manufacturers (BASF Forward AM, Covestro, eSUN, Extrudr, FiberThree, Grupa Azoty, Handtmann, Jabil, Kexcelled, Kimya, Lehvoss, NHH, Polymaker, RadiciGroup High Performance Polymers, Spectrum Filaments, TreeD), which participate in Raise3D’s Open Filament Program. The program is a long-term collaboration to identify top-performing filaments and to provide a large variety of proven materials validated by Raise3D for its customers.
A few filament types mentioned by Raise3D partners include:
- Ultrafuse PET CF15: Said to be easier to process than other carbon fiber-reinforced filaments. Printed parts remain fully functional under higher mechanical and thermal loads. Ideal for applications with high-performance requirements.
- Ultrafuse PP GF30: Contains 30wt% glass fibers designed for filament processing and FFF printing. Ideal for applications with high-performance requirements.
- Ultrafuse PP GF30: Ideal for functional parts intended for challenging working environments due to UV resistance and ultra-low moisture uptake.
- Radilon Adline CS CF10 HP BK grade: A 10% carbon fiber-filled PA6/66 formulation featuring stiffness, high mechanical properties, dimensional stability and optimized surface aspect.
- Kimya ABS Kevlar (aramid fibers)
- Kimya ABS Carbon
All filaments approved under the Open Filament Program can be found on the Raise3D ideaMaker Library, where the printing profiles can be downloaded or imported.
The E2CF was announced in August 2021 and has been available since January 2022. The E2CF is Raise3D’s entry-level 3D printer for fiber-reinforced filaments, while the RMF500 from its industrial line stands as the company’s flagship.
