WT&C introduces fireproof ALEC² PyroWall ceramic for FRP products

WT&C Innovates Inc. (Alberta, Canada), a business development firm in partnership with Applied Research and Industrial Services Inc. (ARIS, Greensboro, N.C., U.S.) introduces ALEC² PyroWall, a fireproof ceramic “composite” material geared toward fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) products.
ALEC² is polymer-free materials that is comprised of ~85% eco-friendly industrial mineral waste (learn more). Unlike other materials, ALEC² is said to offer enhanced protection to FRP products against heat and fire events. This fireproofing capability provides an opportunity to diversify FRP applications and industries, the company reports, including infrastructure and construction (such as building panels and cladding) as well as infrastructure repair (for FRP used to retrofit existing infrastructure to augment long-term safety) and renewable energy infrastructure (components in wind turbines and battery storage systems).
Unlike traditional fire-resistant FRP, ALEC² PyroWall features:
- Zero burn rate: It eliminates the risk of ignition or fire propagation, even in extreme heat.
- High safety: Safeguards people and assets from impacts of fire events.
- Enhanced structural integrity: Maintains its form and characteristics during extreme heat and fire events.
- Stops fire damage: Properly protected FRP structures and/or products will not experience any significant impact.
Beyond its fireproof capabilities, ALEC² PyroWall is also 100% circular. It eliminates the reliable on virgin materials and landfill waste, is comprised of 85% industrial waste itself and can be easily recycled and processed into new products at its end of use.
